Embracing Our Fury:
The Transformative Power of Women's Anger
"Your anger is a gift you give to yourself and the world that is yours.
In anger, I have lived more fully, freely, intensely, sensitively, and politically.
If ever there was a time not to silence yourself, to channel your anger
into healthy places and choices, this is it.”
~Soraya Chemaly, Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Women's Anger
The information below is from our August 2019 women's retreat. I have been brainstorming about future retreats.
Right now I am considering play and pleasure as extreme self-care. What does it look like, and what is getting in the way of my joy.
I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject.
Extreme Self-Care
Extreme self-care is not always unicorns, rainbows, and love & light. Extreme self-care includes setting boundaries when it scares the shit out of you. It’s investing in your own health and vitality to an even greater degree than you take care of others because that is putting on your oxygen mask first. It is consciously and intentionally making time to renew, replenish, and rejuvenate rather than giving yourself the leftovers of your day/week. Extreme self-care requires you to break some of the bullshit rules the dominant culture has fed you around being “selfish”.
This weekend will invite you to step out of your comfort zone, lean into your courage and vulnerability, and face the beautiful and the not-beautiful in you with compassion and grace. In the tranquil and healing surroundings at Bend of Ivy Lodge, you will find nature trails alongside a gentle river, spaces for quiet reflection, creative expression through art & play, and connection with other women.
Who is it for?
This weekend is for women and those who strongly identify as women. If you are one who has been described as a rebel, wild spirit, crazy, irreverent, bawdy, outrageous, or would like to find these aspects within yourself, this weekend is for you.
If you are one who has awakened or is awakening to the realization of how the dominant culture has oppressed and shaped who you are and how you are in the world, this weekend is for you.
If you are one who has been shushed, silenced, man-splained to, had your voice cut off, discounted, minimized, or silenced, this weekend is for you.

"That's a lot of money."
Yes, it is, and you are worth more than that.
To put it into perspective I did a cost comparison of an all-inclusive weekend in Asheville, NC. The average cost of a hotel in the area is $125/night. Breakfast and lunch at restaurants with $$ are approximately $11 a meal not including tip.
Dinner runs about $22. Including tip that comes to about $140 for 8 meals. Then I researched workshops in the area from visual arts to mind & body. A 3-day workshop runs about $250.
3 nights x $125 = $375
8 meals = $140
Workshop = $250
Total cost $765
Then I did a web search for "women's retreats". I found a link titled 24 Best Women's Retreats in the United States. Many of them well over $1000 and some more than $2000. None comparable was priced as low as Sage Soul Sisters retreats. If you are curious, take a look for yourself: https://bookretreats.com/s/yoga-retreats/womens-retreats/united-states
