Resistance

Updated: Dec 27, 2018

These days when we see/hear the word Resistance, we usually think about resisting the Patriarchy or some other form of oppression, and right now all I can think of is how much I resist my anger - speaking of it, writing about it, the whole shebang. I have so much resistance to it. I'm sure there is MUCH subconscious shenanigans going on in my psyche. Today I forced myself to stay in this chair until I posted something, anything. I'm reading Good and Mad by Rebecca Traister. Do not be deterred by her name. She ain't no "Becky", I can assure you. But what do I know. I'm white. Don't take my word for it. Read it yourself. Go to Audible.com and listen to the short audio sample. It will give you a taste. Best book I've read in YEARS, perhaps because it feels so incredibly validating as a woman. Someone finally put into words what I am feeling, thinking, experiencing.

Our next Sage Soul Sisters women's retreat (at Bend of Ivy Lodge just outside of Asheville, NC) will be about women's fury. This book is going to help me get there. It's my fuel. Maybe I can figure out a way to include a copy of her book in the registration. My goal is to keep a blog between now and then of thoughts, feelings, quotes, etc. I would love to hear from you. Please sign up to stay tuned. It's a powerful thing to share our women stories. Today I am sharing some quotes. Hope you like them. I know I do. #FuriousWoman
